We had a big surprise yesterday

We are not sappose to break ground until June 1st at the earliest. But when we decided to drive by and take our weekly peek at the lot, this is what we found. I think this is all the farther they will go until the end of next week, but it was great to see work being done!

Animal Planet Expo - Part 2/2

Animal Planet Expo - The Rock Wall

Animal Planet brought their Animal Planet Expo to Cary, NC today. We arrived early (a good thing) and the kids went through the Discovery Kids Endurance adventure. This included a computerized game (a form of roshambo), a hand-crank driven water boat race, a rock climbing wall (Brian made it to the top!) and an elimination-style hanging game. After they were done they were allowed to go into a private "confessional" booth where they were able to talk about what they did and "audition" for the next season of Endurance.

Ben's 8th B-day

Ben and Brian love Laser Tag, so we got Ben a Mini version.
Among the many thing he asked for this year, Ben really wanted a tennis racket. We have a greenway here, There is a park at the end of it. Ben and his friends like to walk up to the park and play at the tennis courts. He also got some other fun stuff. We got him a new CD(mostly for us, a person can only handle listening to the same thing so many times.) he also got he Chicken Little DVD, some new clothes, and a Magic Tree house Book(his Favorite Book Series)

Brian and Ben's cub scout bridging ceremony

Ben and Brian had their Cub Scout bridging and award ceremony. Ben earned his Wolf badge and a gold arrow point. Brian earned his Bear badge and a gold arrow point. After that they walked the Arrow of Light bridge and were given their supplies for next year by a current Webelos scout.

Ben's first baseball game of 2006

Ben had his first big game. Ben's Cary Yankee's V. the Cary Marlins. He got up to bat twice and had a single and double driving in 4 RPI's and scoring twice. In the field he kept left and center field in order and had a few big single-bounce throws to home.

These games are only for fun and score is not kept ... but if it had been kept it would have been 17-7 Yankees ...
