DC New Years day 2

Today we spent the morning in the Air and Space museum and the afternoon walking the mall (from the capital to the Lincoln Memorial) and then to George Washington University to catch the metro back to VA.

Washington DC for New Years 2007

The Capital Building - DC New Years 2007, originally uploaded by The Horvicks.

We arrived this morning in DC, hopped a metro line from VA into the city and spent the day walking around down town.

We hit the Smithsonian Natural History museum, the national Archives and walked a few blocks to the Hard Rock Cafe.

After dinner we jumped on the metro back to VA and are at the hotel now.

Christmas morning 2007

Santa found our home again this year. The kids had a great time opening their gifts. Here are some of the highlights...

Christmas Eve 2007

On Christmas Eve we open all of the family gifts. Santa will come on Christmas day.

Ben has been looking forward to Toy Story 2 for a long time.

Holly Springs Christmas Parade 2007

This year all the kids got a chance to march in the Holly Springs Christmas Parade. The weather was beautiful (it was nearly 70 by the time the parade got going) and the crowd was great. It seems like just about everyone in town showed up.



Evie marched with the Mt. Kim Tae Kwon Do group. During the parade she broke a board using a round kick and handed out swag to the kids.


Ben also marched with the Tae Kwon Do group. He broke several boards and exhibited several forms and one-step routines.


Cecilia played with the Holly Ridge Middle School marching band.


Brian marched with the band as well. He helped carry the banner and spruced up the parade with some color.

Climbing at Vertical Edge

For a scout activity the boys and Cece went to an indoor climbing center in Durham. All three made it to the top multiple times.

Evie has decided to make the move from Tae Kwon Do to Gymnastics.
